Back to School

I need to update this more often. A LOT has happened over the past two months. Oh, where to begin.

We have had a lot of family time recently between both families, birthdays, Bonnie home from school & travels, mini-vacations, and passings. We had an amazing fun time with the Hansens canoeing and hanging out playing games. Oden apparently loves rapids, a lot more than I do. We celebrated Granny Miller's 85th birthday with a lovely small celebration with the family. Shortly after, she passed away along with her sister, Tia Aurelia, both within the same week. We love and miss them both. I will let everyone know when the celebration of life ceremony/event will be. Currently we are just focusing on getting things in order. Beeps is really shaken but we are all happy to know she is in a better place and not burdened with the damned disease any more.

I have left my 3+ year role at The Frontier Project and I will spare all the gory details in text and save them for the more animated in person version. I am now at TMI Consulting (we are working on the site) and I absolutely love it. It's a part time role, but being part time has allowed me to dive deeper into some other things that I have been interested in, like Experience Production; think interior decorator meets event planner for work and home. I have a few corporate clients lined up and a few private clients and a whole new passion for  helping organize and motivate people. The coolest part about working at TMI, the people. It's small, but the founders are amazing people and have really welcomed me into their little family. Also, I get a sweet office space in Downtown RVA.

Speaking of new spaces and places, Spencer and Team Eight Moved office spaces and are now located in Manchester RVA housed with Triple Stamp Press. It's an amazing space and great people to share it with. They have expanded print services and production space and it's an amazing environment to be in. If ever you are in RVA, ask us for a tour!

I went to Minneapolis for some much needed Gabby time. State fair, beer tasting, cheese curd eating, crazy Gabby time. It was awesome, even if we didn't get to drive a tank.  I got to go up and hang out with Michelle and Laura for the weekend in DC. It sucks not being geographically close any more but it's nice to get to catch up when we can.

The god children came to visit from Honduras along with Elizabeth and JB. We had a fun night of dinner, my attempt at cooking latina, and catching up on the porch.

Spencer & Seth have joined a fall soccer league and if you're ever down on a Sunday, we can check out a game. They are pretty fun, especially if you know anything about the game. Which, if you do you will have to fill me in. Usually it's up to Leah to keep me posted during a game, especially if I happen to be cheering for the wrong team. It happens.

Spencer and I are finally working on the house again. I know. We took a long break to focus more on our jobs and now that they are where we want them to be, at a manageable level, we are kicking it into high gear with the house. We have stairs and bathroom to finish and then onto the kitchen, which all you lovely people have helped fund. More pictures to come as we progress. For now, this is all that I have had time to accomplish this summer, the patio and backyard are pretty much where they are going to be until the house gets finished. Then I will ask for a deck, if Spencer doesn't kill me first. ;-)

I am gearing up to submit my jewelry to an art collective here in northside for the fall. Opening is this Saturday and any and all are welcome. I am hoping that it will get some good traffic as we head into the holiday season and women love jewelry... hint hint. Pancakes and Pendants will have the most up to date jewelry that will be hitting the shelves there. Face Metal Design is a bit out dated, but thanks to Courtney, it's getting a face lift and will be refreshed soon with the newest sparkly love.

More updates soon. It will be 6 years in the house in November and 3 years as Mr & Mrs in October. Time flys when you are chasing it. Remember to love the one you're with and tell them every chance you get. You never know when it's gona be the last. Love you all.
