Working Hard for the Monie$

Spencer is eagerly awaiting the first of December, and working as hard as he can to get all the parts in place before then. Team Eight will be getting their new studio space, they will officially be a brick and mortar business!!! With a front door and everything.

Here he is working on his long planned out desk and I am plucking along at the list of to-do's on my craft table.

I will post pics of the space tomorrow when they get in it. It needs A LOT of work, but soon it will be beautiful.

Thankful for all that we have

After a long weekend Thanksgiving event with both families I wanted to reflect in a few photos all that we have to be thankful for.

Random Turkey

Cooking due to an unexpected turkey (that I did not buy) in my grocery order. Went shopping, got bagging assistance at Kroger (always an unwanted help, surprises galore when baggers help me) and got home to find a modest sized bird in my bags, fresh of course, so I couldn't freeze the damn thing and give to someone else. So am cooking it today. Here is the process in photos and we had the bird and no one got sick, success. Seth and Spencer really enjoyed it. As did the cats and neighbors dogs.

Mad Men Party

Here are a few pics from Kim's ( a co-worker at Frontier) Mad Men themed birthday party that Spencer, Seth and I went to. It was a fun evening and most people dressed up.

Soccer Sunday

Today was a lovely day for watching a soccer game. Spencer, Seth and their team worked really hard to beat the one team in their team that they considered really tough, Army Strong, who in my opinon were a bunch of dirty jerks, but apparently that's how those games go. They ended up beating us 3-2. This is the first time that the boys team lost this season, so regardless, they are doing very well still. Megan and I cheered on from the sidelines and were later joined by Shaun and Keegan, Jonathan's family, Spencer's co-worker with Team Eight.

Later we had a blast playing Carcassonne and conversation. It was a blast to get to catch up with the gang.

The house

So, it's a beautiful fall day and I know some people are anxious to know how progress on the house is coming. We are almost finished with the bathroom, here is the BEAUTIFUL new shower and fixtures. We are working on getting the cabinets built and in before December, hopefully, but you know, we also said that the kitchen renovation would be taking place 2 years ago. Life happens. Seth, Spencer's brother has been living with us for a few months now, getting into the screen-printing side of Spencer's business. It's really nice to have him around. It's a little too quiet with just the 2 of us. The only drawback to having him here is the fact that my cat, Angel, is having an affair with him. She literally jumps in the air with excitement when he comes home and lives in his room when he is here. I think she might have to go to therapy if he moves.

Five Years Ago...

We lost our minds, found a cute little bungalow in the "burbs" and thought it nice enough to be ours. Today, it IS ours. It's our cute little house-project that has taken over a very significant part of our lives and is very much about what we create together. To us being "creatives" and all, this is a very big deal. So, what follows, will be what I should have done all along. Kudos to my sister-in-law Stacie, for knowing how important these things are for long distance friends and 'relly's to have access to. So, I hope that those who peer and ponder enjoy the little bits of the mundane, day to day that we constantly take for granted but in reality make up the best parts of our lives.
